Directions

The Mountains of Vermont can be quite confusing! Follow these directions so you don't get lost!

1716 Thomas Hill Road

Halifax, VT 05301

FROM THE SOUTH:

Take I 91 north to exit 2 (route 9 west) in Vermont. Follow route 9 west to South Road (8.7 miles). It is a left-hand turn; prior to it there is a sign to Marlboro and there is a cemetery on your left. Go to Common Directions.

FROM THE NORTH:

Note: If you are coming down through Vermont on route 100 follow “from the west”. Otherwise, take I 91 south to exit 2 (route 9 west). Be sure to not take exit 3, which is also route 9, but to the east. Follow route 9 west to South Road (8.7 miles). It is a left-hand turn; prior to it there is a sign to Marlboro and there is a cemetery on your left. Go to Common Directions.

FROM THE EAST (NEW HAMPSHIRE):

How ever is best for you, get on NH route 9 west which will become VT route 9 as you cross the river into Vermont. You will go around a rotary (take second exit) and then get on I 91 south for one exit only. Take exit 2 (route 9 west). Follow route 9 west to South Road (8.7 miles). It is a left-hand turn; prior to it there is a sign to Marlboro and there is a cemetery on your left. Go to Common Directions.

FROM THE WEST (BENNINGTON, VT):

Note: If you are hauling a trailer, I suggest taking route 279 which bypasses Bennington, starting just short of the New York – Vermont border. It connects with route 9 east of Bennington. Take route 9 east, through Wilmington, passing the high point of Hogback Mountain, which you will recognize for its overlook and tourist shop. From there it is a little under five miles to the South Road turnoff. You will see a sign for Marlboro Center, directing you to the right. It is a very sharp right-hand turn and you will see a cemetery on your left as you turn. Go to Common Directions.

COMMON DIRECTIONS:

Follow South Road to Lucier Road (2 miles). Follow the full two miles, do NOT veer off on Ames Hill Road, across from the Whetstone Inn. At the end of two miles the paved road curves right to continue on to Potash Hill (there is a sign there); at that point follow Lucier Road, which is a gravel/dirt road. Drive slowly on this road and watch for oncoming cars and for the sharp left-hand curve which almost touches an old white farmhouse. Follow the road for a full two miles, do not veer off into assorted driveways or onto Judd Road. Lucier ends at a 90-degree intersection with Thomas Hill Road. After you turn right we are on your left, number 1716 - Welcome!
